Many times when God comes through for us, our testimony usually does not point to the Lord to have been the reason and cause behind our success, survival, healing etc. The disciples did not realize the voice of Jesus on the sea of Tiberius, to the extent he helped them to catch much fish yet they did not realize that it was the Lord who had made it possible. It is of paramount importance that our testimony directs people to Jesus the center of everything and nothing else.
David remembered his covenant with Jonathan and decided to show God’s kindness to any left of the house of Saul for Jonathan’s sake. It is very important to value relationships not for what you can get but for what you can give. We must be able to remember those who have done good to us continuously seek the opportunity to reciprocate other than forgetting them
Gibeonites made peace with Joshua, so when Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua defeated Ai and was now in league with the Gibeonites, he greatly feared and decided to mobilize his allies to fight Gibeon because of Joshua. Gibeon is being asked because of Joshua and an attack on Joshua was an indirect attack on Joshua. Sometimes when the devil can not get to us he attacks anything or anyone in our circles of relationship, to get to us. An attack on anyone who is connected to me is an indirect attack on me. Its important to pray for everyone who is connected to us and learn to be our brothers keeper.
After Peter and John had healed the lame man, many people present were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened. When Peter saw that the people marveled at the miracle, he plainly told them that they had not done this by their own power or holiness, but rather pointed the people to having faith in the Lord Jesus not on anything else. Anything else is merely the means to the end, whereas Jesus is the end and reason for everything.
